Once more Leslie and the Faceless Man are intrinsically entwined in this story in the Rivers universe but, for The Faceless Man, in a far more personal way than any of the previous ones.
and Lady Ty calls in her favour…
This is a very fast episode in the continuing story, very twisting and getting more depth from a lot of the supporting characters.
Peter has to get to the bottom of the death of a young woman from a bad batch of drugs at a party in the apartment of the ultra-rich before more people are killed but having to be very careful as Lady Ty’s daughter has put herself in for supplying the drugs.
As usual nothing is simple and the threads of the various facets of the Rivers universe get tangled in on themselves once more and it gets harder and harder to see where this case is going.
There are some stunning revelations and shows of power from Ty, and Peter’s ability as a practitioner and police officer keep growing but he is still no match for some of the powers arraigned in this book.
Another compelling read from Ben in the Rivers universe but I really need to know what Lesley and The Faceless Man are up to though I’m starting to get a feel for the shape of their plans.
