Nothing But Blackened Teeth

I got quite a few graphic novels and horror novellas for my Christmas and thought I would start off the 2025 reading year with one of the novellas.

This has so many classic horror tropes from the beginning I though I might DNF it, five young people who’ve had extremely twisty relationships with each other, a desolate house with a dreadful history, alcohol, food, and a marriage in the offing.

Cassandra though took each of these threads and made them her own in a very short time.

This is a tale of possession and terror with classic haunted house ideas such as visual and auditory hallucinations, changing physical dimensions, a bride who was forever abandoned, but it then throws in spice from the Evil Dead type of hauntings.

I romped through this and enjoed it from start to finish, each twist adding a layer the eventual outcome.

So looking forward to my next Cassandra Khaw read ‘The Salt Grows Heavy’ as that was in my Christmas pile as well.
