Morning commute
What I’ve been up to the last week
Again it’s been a rather slow week, lots of working for someone else which really limits the time I can have in my sunny garden, yes it’s been so sunny this week and I’ve really missed sitting in the garden with the cat and the bees.
Perfect home office!
I did explore the financial implications of dropping a day a week, which would give me more time to do household things, have a life, and travel, but it’s just not doable at the moment so the status quo will continue to reign.
I could be able to do this with quite a few more members/subscribers so it’s a case of plugging away!
I’ve been absolutely exhausted this week and falling asleep almost as soon as I get home, I think losing that hour at the start of the week and having a really restless kitty hasn’t helped my sleep patterns, so I think I’m going to draw a line under the week and see what next week brings.
A weekend off in the sunshine should help.

Interview series
I run a series of interviews on the three main blogs I’ve got and am always on the lookout for more people to be involved, if you are interested why not look at the one related to you and get in touch.
- Author Interviews
- Blogger Interviews
- Bookshop Interviews
- Illustrator Interviews
- Publisher Interviews
- Translator Interviews
I’ve also set up a couple of pages for interviewing editors and agents and the fine tuning of the questions is underway but it’s getting the right balance between personal and professional that makes the interviews interesting.
A reminder that a paid membership to this Ko-Fi starts at £1 a month.
This helps with lots of things but right now it would help with domain and hosting costs for the various projects.
If I could get 400 or so Ko-Fi or Substack members I could work on these projects more consistently; including travelling to visit, film, and write about independent bookshops and publishers!
It will always be free to read most of the posts on the blog and Ko-Fi but there may be member exclusive products/posts in the future, such as short stories from an old project that need a home.
