Another one of those albums I remember listening to at my nana’s all the time, we would also watch the musicals on a Sunday of they were on telly.

So no great surprises in this album for me, but what did strike me was that there were no real stand out songs for me either. A solid musical from Rodgers and Hammerstein once again but apart from that massive hit of nostalgia not much more.

Often though that nostalgia for lost, more innocent times is enough to carry you through a piece of music and still enjoy it thoroughly. If I had to choose a couple of tracks that actually rose above the pack on this album it would be; ‘You’re a Queer One Julie Jordan’ and ‘Stonecutters Cut It On Stone’ a couple of the more upbeat (silly) tunes.

Again not my favourite album, but I did like the nostalgia listening to it for a few plays to get the feel of it once more.
